Thursday, Oct. 13 at 5 p.m. on the Google Meet platform will be held "10IdeeX4Minutes" Elevator Pitch organized for the presentation of ten young Italian companies and their eco-innovative business projects in the textile and fashion sector involving a virtual audience of investors, professionals and insiders.
The online event, structured in a series of quick and effective presentations of 4 minutes each, is organized by the Prato Textile Museum at the conclusion of the Access To Finance track, a specialized training for deepening companies' financial skills and search for financing, included in the activities promoted by the European Project STAND Up! (https://www.enicbcmed.eu/projects/stand-up) to support sustainable and circular startups in the textile and clothing sector in the Mediterranean area.
Selected through a call for proposals opened last spring, the 10 young startups involved, from May to July 2022 took part in a training course composed of both theoretical modules and exercises and one-on-one meetings with experts from Capital Venture Consulting, a Rome-based financial company specializing in investments for startups and innovative SMEs, corporate finance and subsidized finance, appointed by the Textile Museum to implement the course and coordinate the elevator pitch.
With more than half of the projects coming from Tuscany but with interesting business ideas also from Lazio and Campania, the group of entrepreneurs who will present their project proposals to potential financiers, T&A companies, trade associations and local and national incubators, is 90 percent women and well over half young people under 35, confirming the aims of the STAND Up! Project to support youth entrepreneurship and especially female entrepreneurship.
The business ideas seeking financial support will offer a broad picture of interesting solutions for the textile and fashion industry: from the production of an innovative material alternative made from fruit waste (Verabuccia) to ethical and sustainable clothing lines under the banner of craftsmanship (Wethic and Banyan Clothing) and an innovative development for 100 percent natural hemp yarn (EP, The Future of Fashion); from jewelry and accessories that marry design, circularity and environmental care (Neloo) and a multi-service collaborative platform for textile waste valorization (Zerow) to the opportunity to innovate one's purchasing model through a fully digitized tailoring service (Re- Designing Fashion).
Also, from a fashion brand that merges the study of volumes with print development thanks to an original patent (FUM, First Unknown Myself) and a wedding collection that integrates modularity, sustainability and the very current reuse trend (Altoricamo) to a cutting-edge tool that can measure the sustainability impact of products and the production process of Made in Italy excellence (CircularDreamers by MOEBEUS).
At the conclusion of the pitch, a jury of investors and experts will select a virtual "podium" for the top three startups deemed the most sustainable and innovative, based on specific parameters for evaluating the sustainability of the proposal and the potential and effectiveness of the product/service offered.
It is possible to participate in the pitch as an audience by filling out the short registration form at the link https://bit.ly/3f08nMn indicating your email contact to receive the direct Meet link to access to the event.
