From April 25 to May 1, in Florence's extraordinary Fortezza da Basso, the beauty of craftsmanship returns.
Founded in 1932, MIDA - The International Handicrafts Exhibition in Florence, is now undoubtedly an event of great national and international relevance, among the very few in Italy to bring together more than 530 exhibitors from more than 32 countries, making the event a true benchmark for handicrafts.
Through its 88 editions, in more than 90 years of activity, the Fair has seen many transformations and experienced the evolution of craftsmanship in Italy and the World. A boast and an experience that has pushed the organization to rediscover the value it has always represented, returning to being the great event it already was in the past. A clearly visible effort that in recent years, has brought it back to being the place of true excellence, attracting an increasingly passionate and attentive audience to the craftsmanship of the products and involving more and more buyers and retailers interested in creating new collaborations.
Exhibiting at MIDA25 means making one's creations known to a wide audience (last year's edition counted more than 65,000 visitors), curious and passionate handmade people but also buyers, retailers, designers and collectors, with whom to create new business opportunities, making contacts with potential customers, distributors and business partners. Moreover, thanks to a series of services dedicated to exhibitors, such as marketing support and networking activities, it is possible to enhance even more their visibility at the fair and online.
The Fortezza da Basso, home of the fair, is a place rich in history and charm that well supports the exhibition, creating a unique, attractive and collected atmosphere capable of enhancing the products themselves. It is a magical place that will also be available to visitors through guided tours of the basement, built in the first half of the 16th century at the behest of the Medici family, a symbol of Florence's artistic history.
Visitors to MIDA25 will thus be able to immerse themselves in a special atmosphere, where each booth tells stories of craftsmanship, from glass and ceramic work to jewelry, fashion and marquetry, and new interpretations of contemporary craftsmanship. In addition, visitors to MIDA25, will be able to witness live the work of artisans and participate in workshops for adults and children.
With the Experiential Workshops, in fact, master artisans will guide visitors in hands-on workshops dedicated to goldsmithing, ceramics, paper and marquetry. Then there will be the Taste Workshops, with cooking shows, tastings and meetings with star chefs and food artisans, to rediscover the culinary art from an artisanal perspective.
- Choose the right products: Select the creations that are most representative of your work in a way that best represents your savoir-faire, making sure to cover multiple audiences, thus with low, medium and high-priced products.
- Take care of your booth set-up: An eye-catching and functional layout is essential to attract the attention of visitors. Choose intense colors and be careful to make the most of your products: better a few well-presented ones than a lot of clutter... The way you tell the story of your items must also be curated (engaging and attractive); customers want to buy a story even before an item.
- Take advantage of the services offered by MIDA: Attend events organized by the fair, such as workshops and conferences, to expand your knowledge and network.
- Promote your participation: Use your social channels and website to inform your customers and followers of your participation in MIDA.
